Roy Blunt
U.S. Senator, 2011-2023
Missouri S&T is pleased to welcome Senator Roy Blunt to campus as the inaugural speaker of the Chancellor’s Speaker Series on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Roy Blunt was born in Niangua, Missouri, and became the first member of his family to graduate from college, earning a Master of Arts in History in 1972. He began his career as a high school history teacher before being chosen the County Clerk and Chief Election Officer for Springfield and Greene County.

CEO and Co-Founder, Water.org and WaterEquity
Gary White is an observer, an innovator, and a passionate problem-solver. He has created solutions that have empowered millions of people in need with access to safe water and sanitation.
Gary is the CEO and co-founder of Water.org and WaterEquity, nonprofit organizations dedicated to empowering people in the developing world to gain access to safe water and sanitation. Gary developed Water.org’s WaterCredit solution, creating new financing options for poor populations to meet their water supply and sanitation needs.

Dr. Sharon Walker
Dean of the College of Engineering, Drexel University
Sharon L. Walker, PhD, is Dean of Drexel’s College of Engineering and Distinguished Professor in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering. She also holds courtesy faculty appointments as professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, as well as Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The Honorable John Ashcroft
Former U.S. Attorney General, U.S. Senator and Missouri Governor
The Honorable John Ashcroft served U.S. Attorney General from 2001 to 2005 under the administration of President George W. Bush. He previously served as U.S. Senator from Missouri and the 50th Governor of Missouri, and now serves as the founder and chair of the Ashcroft Law Firm.
As Attorney General, Ashcroft led the U.S. Justice Department, one of the world’s premier law enforcement bodies and a key federal executive department. In that role, he integrated strategic planning, budgeting, and performance measures, which resulted in the DOJ earning a clean audit for the first time in its history.

Aruna Miller
Lieutenant Governor of Maryland
Aruna Miller is the 10th Lieutenant Governor of Maryland. She is the second woman to serve in that role and is the first woman of color and immigrant elected to statewide office in Maryland.
Born in India, Lieutenant Governor Miller and her family immigrated to the United States when she was 7 years old. She earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Missouri S&T.
